gThrive, Inc. Announces Continued Expansion into Central America.

gThrive continues to expand its installation base with growers in Central America who are now using the system. Growers of a range of crops in these countries are using the gThrive system to control water, reduce power consumption, and manage crop production. "Water management is even more critical in Mexico and other countries than in parts of the US. They are on well water, depleting faster than replenishment can occur in extremely dry areas where they are growing strawberries and fresh vegetables. Our system enables them to reduce consumption. It's portability provides an unexpected benefit. Growers 'migrate' equipment from California to Arizona to Mexico following the growing cycle. The portability of the gThrive system lets it go right along. As they move irrigation equipment, they can bring along their field monitoring system.", said Bruce Borden, CEO of gThrive.

Besides the obvious water and power savings benefits, growers can also manage crop production for market timing. By increasing or decreasing water availability, they can control plant growth, flowering and fruiting to better meet market needs and contracted requirements.

All this can be done remotely rather than flying down from the US to check on operations and staff activities.

OCTOBER 18, 2015

gThrive, Inc. exhibits at CAPCA Show

Santa Clara, Calif: gThrive will feature the gThrive system at the 41st Annual California Association of Pest Control Advisors Conference and Agri-Expo (http://capca.com/conference/) in Reno, Nevada from October 18th to the 20th. gThrive will be displaying their gThrive system and its components as well as demoing system installation to conference attendees.  Concurrently, gThrive will display real time data feeds from the gStake sensors in its booth from growers using the gThrive system throughout the US. gThrive can be found at Booth 504 in the main exhibitor hall.

gThrive provides growers real-time information about their crops to help manage their irrigation resources, resulting in improved harvests and reduced operating costs. We offer an affordable, easy-to-use field monitoring system utilizing proven wireless, sensor, and mobile technologies. The gThrive solution is scalable from small family farms to big operations, giving all growers a low cost solution that pays for itself quickly by reducing water and (pumping) power, and increasing yields. gThrive is a funded startup based in the heart of Silicon Valley led by agriculture and technology experts.  Learn more at www.gthrive.com.

gThrive, Inc. announces deployment of gThrive systems to Arizona

Santa Clara, Calif: Today growers in Arizona are now using gThrive systems to monitor and manage their irrigation of corn and other field crops using a variety of irrigation methods. Growers select the gThrive system because of its ease-of-use, mobility, and cost effectiveness. A gThrive system can be installed without special training in a matter of hours so it allows fast deployment so it is useful to implement even late in a growing season. A gThrive system consists of a gLink Base station and gStakes. Each gStake includes 5 different sensors (soil moisture, soil temp, EC, air temp, and sunlight).  Growers can move the gStakes around in their field easily to monitor the performance of center pivot, overhead spray and drip to identify variations in water output and water absorption. gStakes do not have wires and are designed for easy insertion into irrigated fields without special slurries. It's quick and easy to move gStakes around which allows a grower to re-use gStakes again and again, reducing his effective system cost.

gThrive, Inc. announces deployment of gThrive systems to Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska

Santa Clara, Calif: Today, growers in Iowa, Kansas, and Nebraska are now using gThrive systems to monitor and manage their irrigation from their center pivots. gThrive systems requires no wires, so gThrive sensors, called 'gStakes' can be placed anywhere in a field within range of the base station without any concerns about field equipment cutting or rodents damaging communication cables and interrupting the flow of information. No longer do growers need to troubleshoot soil monitoring systems for cable breaks.

gStakes then delivers moisture and other soil and air data to a grower's smartphone over the cellular network. So now growers can 'see' what's going on deep in their fields and know if the health and moisture of plants at the field's edges are indicative of the health and associated water levels experienced by stalks throughout their fields. In fact, they can 'see' from dozens or hundreds of miles away from their fields while in their truck or office.

APRIL 22, 2015 EARTH DAY

gThrive, Inc. announces availability of its Field Monitoring Solution For Growers on Earth Day 2015

Gives growers a field monitoring system that’s easier to install, use and afford than today’s solutions

Santa Clara, Calif: To celebrate Earth Day 2015, gThrive, Inc. announces general availability of the gThrive solution that provides growers more information for water, fertilizer and pest management. Right from their smartphone, they can see moisture, temperature, salinity, and sunlight conditions in their fields. Farmers can better manage energy, water, and fertilizer consumption to reduce costs and environmental impact while increasing yield and profit margins. It is available for purchase now: http://store.gthrive.com.

gThrive, Inc. is committed to caring for our earth by supporting farmers’ stewardship of their land especially as the drought in the West enters its 4th year. And in a broader sense, gThrive is committed to helping growers feed the coming 9 Billion people which will require 100% more food than is produced today.

The gThrive field monitoring solution includes wireless, portable gStakes to collect data, a gLink Base Station to relay the data from the gStakes to the cloud, and a smartphone application. gThrive delivers intuitive graphs to display field data so growers can monitor and manage their fields.

gStakes monitor:

  • Soil Moisture
  • Soil EC (Electrical Conductivity)
  • Soil Temperature
  • Sunlight
  • Air Temperature

“As a farm manager for over 25 years in California, I was approached many times by companies selling irrigation sensor/control systems. The gThrive system is the only one easy enough to use and cheap enough to justify.”, Kurt Jacobsen, California farm manager.

“Plants first put down roots. From their roots, plants get the resources to grow and produce. Our solution provides ground truth--what’s going on in the soil. We want growers to have more data from more places in their field. Growers tell us that they like our solution as it is easier to install, conveniently provides them more data, and at a price that always surprises them. After exceeding our expectations in our field trials, we are all extremely proud to make the gThrive solution available.”, Bruce Borden, gThrive CEO.

With gThrive, customers can:

  • View real-time graphs of field data
  • Reduce water and reduce pumping costs
  • Use less fertilizer
  • Monitor soil salinity
  • Adjust the conditions of the worst plots to make them more like the most productive
  • Know when the root zone is warm enough to seed or plant, fertilize, or control pests
  • Spot problems with irrigation systems in real time
  • Monitor frost conditions in field micro-climates

gThrive, Inc. is in a sweet-spot at the intersection of Agtech and the IoT (Internet of Things). Agtech is experiencing rapid growth with no sign of slowing down. The utility of IoT products in the private sector is clear as they simplify and automate our day-to-day lives. gThrive brings the benefits of IoT to agriculture with an ultimate goal to automate the irrigation and fertigation process.
